What makes WOW toys special

We’re pretty much obsessed with creating super cute, super tough toys for your little ones to love …and all with no batteries required!
Our passionate toy designers, based at WOW HQ in Hammersmith, London, spend each day thinking about ever more magical ways to delight tots the world over.

How we design a WOW toy

Making toys as great as these doesn’t happen overnight. We will take up to 12 months to develop a WOW toy. Here’s how we do it…

Step 1: We come up with ideas for new toys by doing research with WOW fans like Mums or Grandparents.

Step 2: The WOW design team sketch lots of ideas.

Step 3: We ask shop keepers and customers what they think so that we can get the details right.

Step 4: A WOW product designer builds a working model out of foam in our workshop.

Step 5: Using this foam model, a prototype model is made.

Step 6: This prototype model is used to make lots of moulds at the factory.

Step 7: While this is happening we make a one-off colour model. It costs about £10,000 but we will still let some children play with it to check we’ve got it right.

Step 8: At last we’re ready to make our first plastic test samples.

Step 9: At this point all our toys go through rigorous independent safety testing.

Step 10: Finally the toy is ready to be manufactured and boxed up for children to enjoy all over the world.

Developmental benefits

We know an awful lot about designing and creating fantastic toys that children will love. We spend a lot of time watching children play with our toys (and we admit it, playing with the toys ourselves!) to understand how play patterns and development change over the years. This means many of our toys will become firm favourites from 18 months right up until 5 years and beyond. Now that’s what we call good play value for money.
WOW toys stimulate learning through long lasting creative play with exciting features to discover which help develop and feed young imaginations. From basic motor skills to more advanced social interactive role-play, the toys provide children with a fun way to make sense of the world around them and assist with early development.

WHEN THE WOW TOY GOT HERE I WAS SO EXCITED AND KNEW MY GIRLS WOULD ENJOY PLAYING TOGETHER WITH IT. THEY HAVE HAD SO MUCH FUN PLAYING WITH THE CAR AND THE PONY.BREA AND ME'ANA BOTH LOVE THE WOW CAR AND TRAILER.THEY SHARE THIS TOY AND PLAY WELL TOGETHER.I LOVE THAT YOU DONT HAVE TO HAVE BATTERIES FOR THE WOW TOYS.MY GIRLS INTERACT WITH THE TOY ALL THE TIME.ME'ANA HAS TO PLAY WITH THE TOY EVERYDAY.
