Why We Launched CUSH Cosmetics
We launched Color Us Simply Holistic, LLC (CUSH) in August 2009 because it was becoming more and more difficult to find natural hair products that didn’t pose any potential health risks. We were very concerned about the harmful impact that some preservatives and chemicals that were being used in most cosmetics, would have on our health, as well as the health of our developing children. Therefore, we decided that we wanted to make a difference and offer alternative products to the millions of families who shared the same concerns, and were looking to reduce the amount of toxins that they were exposing themselves to.
Before CUSH Cosmetics
Prior to starting CUSH, I worked in the pharmaceutical industry for several years until I decided to align my spiritual life with my work life, and began to informally study holistic nutrition. I found that helping people improve their health or detoxify their bodies through creating and maintaining a healthy diet really appealed to me. So, I decided to attend school, and I became a certified Holistic Health Coach (HHC) in 2008.
My husband Joseph also worked in corporate American for several years as a Chemical Engineer, and later went on to head up Engineering for a fortune 400 cosmetics company.

Palm Oil-Palm oil is one of the largest natural sources of tocotrienols,which is a member of the Vitamin E family. Research has shown that tocotrienols are one of the most potent antioxidants found in nature and is excellent at fighting against UV damage from the sun. Lastly, palm oil's molecular structure allows it to deeply penetrate the skin and hair, which makes it excellent at trapping in moisture.
Castor Oil-Is a natural conditioner that coats the hair shaft and is great for giving hair sheen and luster.
Mango Butter-Is high in antioxidants A and C and is a natural emollient and has been used in the rainforest for generations, to treat and heal dry skin such as eczema and psoriasis.

Black Strap Molasses-Is high in manganese which is a critical component of a very important antioxidant enzyme called superoxide dismutase. Superoxide Dismutase provides protection against damage from free radical damage. Black Strap Molasses also contains copper, which eliminates free radicals and it increases the production of melanin which supports your natural hair pigment, and possibly decreases grey hair. I USED THIS PRODUCT ON BREA'S HAIR BECAUSE HER HAIR SEEMS TO BE REALLY DRY ALL THE TIME IF I DONT MOISTURISE IT. I FIRST SMELLED THE PRODUCT. I REALLY LIKE THE SMELL ITS KINDA A LIGHT FRUITY SCENT. BREA LOVED THE SMELL.THIS PRODUCT MADE BREA'S HAIR SUPER SOFT. BREA WAS LIKE MOMMY MY HAIR IS SO SOFT.I DID USE ALOT OF THE CREME DE PALM SINCE BREA'S HAIR IS SO THICK.I USED ALMOST HALF OF IT.I REALLY LOVE THE CREME DE PALM.I AM GOING TO BE TRYING IT ON MY HAIR NEXT.HEAD OVER TOM CREME DE PALM AND CHECK EM OUT. THEY HAVE STUFF FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY.YOU CAN FIND CUSH COSMETICS RIGHT HERE.
BREA'S HAIR AFTER I USED THE CREME DE PALM. HER HAIR IS STILL WET.I HAVENT DETANGLED IT YET IN THIS PICTURE.
