As a parent and like many others, Anson Lam wants the best for his children. When his second child suffered terribly from colic  and frequent ear infections, he and his wife tried many products  to help their baby daughter. Losing sleep at night became    overwhelming and no one in their family was able to get much  rest. Trying to get their little one to burp and spit up to reduce the air in her belly led to more discomfort because doing so brought up uncomfortable tummy acids  which burned her little throat. It was only after using a fully-vented bottle that eliminated  the ingestion of air along with milk that their baby girl started to show significant reduction in colic and ear infection. The product they used worked well, but there were too many separate parts to clean and sterilize. This is when he realized that a simpler, improved bottle with less parts and easier to clean was what he and other parents needed. At the same time Anson and his wife were confronted with their baby experiencing the discomforts of colic, consumer  awareness about suspected harmful BPA, potentially hazardous ink and phthalates in infant products also became a growing concern. Nearly all baby feeding products were made of polycarbonate plastic which were clear and pretty, but not necessarily the best for heating and use in feeding babies. It was at this time that Anson and his wife decided to create Coddlelife bottles with a one-piece venting nipple system made of either high quality glass or polypropylene plastic    (PP). Both glass and polypropylene are considered much safer than polycarbonate material which had been the standard up   until then. Coddlelife products are BPA free, contain no potentially toxic  ink, are affordable and of high-quality. Our  One-Piece Venting Nipple System allows air to enter the bottle without mixing with milk while a baby feeds. This creates equilibrium and contributes to a continuous flow of milk as a baby would encounter when breast feeding. How does it work?Quite simply, to keep a consistent flow of liquid (milk) out of a container (bottle), air must replace the liquid (milk) drawn out of the bottle. The trick is to allow  that air into the bottle without your baby ingesting some of it. Coddlelife bottles have a separate air passageway tube that  is part of the nipple and extends to the bottom of the bottle.   When the bottle is turned upside down to feed a baby, the end of this tube sticks out of the milk. As a baby feeds and milk is drawn from the bottle, air is drawn into the tube and   fills the air space above the milk in the bottle. Milk is drawn out and air is drawn in. The result of this is the  ability of your baby to draw milk uninterrupted. Do Coddlelife bottles leak? If prepared according to instructions, the Coddlelife bottle  will not leak. Traditional vented bottles designed to reduce colic tend to leak if they are pre-prepared and transported (for example to day care). This occurs because milk can easily  enter into the air passageway tube. To prevent this, travel discs are supplied which must be inserted between the nipple and the bottle. When you are ready to feed, the nipple must be removed, the travel disc taken out and the nipple replaced. The “seal” on a sterilized    bottle is now broken. With Coddlelife, there is no need for a travel disc. Our  cleaning stick which is used to clean the nipple tube also  acts as a stopper. Once you have prepared a sterilized bottle,  the stick can be inserted into the nipple tube. When ready to  feed, you simply remove the stopper stick. I WAS SUPER EXCITED TO BE ABLE TO REVIEW A GLASS BOTTLE  I HAVE NEVER USED ON BEFORE. I THINK THE WHOLE SYSTEM  OF THE CODDLELIFE BOTTLES ARE AWESOME. I KNOW THIS WILL BE A GREAT BOTTLE FOR MY SON. I LOVE THE SILICON SLEEVES AS WELL. THEY ARE TOO COOL AND PROVIDE A NO SLIP GRIP TO THE BOTTLES. I LOVE THE DRYING RACK TO. I KNWO MY BOTTLES WILL  GET DRY IN NO TIME WITH THE DRYING RACK.
